the other 2/3 of the advantage is in it's functionality, usage and customisation. The unifying connectivity and bluetooth is just 1/3 the advantage. so in such cases, it's nice to have the mouse connected by bluetooth and free up the USB 2,0/3.0 port for other devices.

so if you want to connect your external hard-disk etc, you will have to remove even the unifying USB receiver. These days the new laptops are powerhouses but extremely sleek and lightweight, and have just one USB 2.0/3.0 port and a few USB-Type-C ports. Also, this mouse is bluetooth technology. such receivers can pair with up to 6 logitech devices at a time, so you can have only one port occupied and still have your wireless mouse, keyboard and other (logitech) devices connected. It's based on Logitech's unifying technology, which means it comes with a unifying USB receiver. It's barely 1200Rs more than the M235 but is far far more advanced and way more worth the extra spend. But I'd highly recommend going for the M590, instead. So, if you need a basic wireless mouse go for M235. cause latest sleek laptops etc don't come with so many USB ports. and if you want to connect another device like an external hard-disk etc, then good luck.

if you have a wireless keyboard, you will need two separate USB ports. and which is a basic wireless mouse, with a nano-USB receiver, which means it pairs only with the USB receiver it comes packaged with, not with other receivers. Currently, Logitech has an M235 model on Amazon that looks like a quality product at about 1/3rd price of the M590.
